HappyCode Parents FAQ

Our Stamford facility is close to the 971 bus line. Our facility is located at the ground floor of the Stamford Innovation Center – we’re more easily accessible through the side entrance near 37 Bank St, Stamford CT 06901. However, if you do enter through the main entrance of the innovation center, you’ll want to go down one floor using the elevator or staircase.

From Norwalk/Darien

Take I 95 South and take exit 7, merging onto N State St. Turn right onto Greyrock Place, then left onto Tresser Blvd, right onto Washington Blvd, right onto Main St, and finally a slight right onto Bank St. Our building will be on your left.

From NY and Greenwich

Take I 95 North to exit 7. Continue onto S State St, then use the left two lanes to turn onto Washington Blvd, then turn right onto Main St, and finally a slight right onto Bank St. Our building will be on your left.

Street parking is usually available on Bank St where our side entrance is, but has a 2 hour maximum. For longer term parking, we highly suggest the Bell Street Parking Garage, which is FREE on the weekends courtesy of the city of Stamford (free on Saturday 8AM to 5PM, Sunday 10AM to 5PM).

You can miss any number of Scratch Classes and make them up. No need to worry, those are the most flexible classes. Due to our super flexible curriculum, your child will always be working on current material. We are usually pretty flexible with most other classes as well.

The initial 2 classes usually focus on the introduction and the rest is usually hands on work that is either instructor led or self paced or team focused. We recommend that you call us to give you a description so you can decide.

We offer a Drop in classes that allow you to try a class without committing to a full session or pay as you go. In Scratch or Robotics you can try a class at any point in a session.

This system usually works with any of our other classes; if you see the “DROP IN” option in a class, this means you can try it or pay as you go.

Some of our classes require that your child take base classes in Scratch while others are tailored to specific age groups. Most Scratch Classes are open to anyone if they meet the age requirement. In many cases, children may qualify to take a Coding class not in their age group if they have previous coding experience. Please check the skills needed for our Python and other Coding Languages. If in doubt call us or email us to check your child’s previous experience or to get more information

We understand that hectic schedules sometimes make it hard to get to all the places we need to get to on time; we are glad to work with you if you reach out to us.

Anyone can be picked up a few minutes late, but please note 15 minute early-drop off and late pickup is a perk for Byte Club Members only. This membership perk is what enables HCC to guarantee the required supervision, safety, and fun 15 minutes before and after class.

Students without Byte Club Membership will of course be looked after to the best of our ability, but we cannot legally make guarantees nor accept any liabilities when significant lateness or early drop-off occurs without 48 hours of prior notice and contact (again we’re understanding of schedules and a few minutes is no problem).

Yes- We can offer you scheduled classes on-site for a rate of $75 per hour during the week or $100 on the weekends. Rates for off-site private lessons vary and depend on the schedule of other classes.

YES – Our instructors have a  Red Cross certification in Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED.

Don’t worry, after the initial registration of a new student, you will fill out forms to provide us with emergency contacts, allergies, medical conditions and lots of other pertinent information.
