Our kids Computer Science Education programs provide a much needed enrichment program that schools easily implement to compliment their after-school activities. Our increasingly popular program imparts children with Basic Computational Thinking by integrating Computer Science elements into hands-on projects. Instructors and Interns assist children to work on fun experiential projects that are age appropriate for grades K-10.

We love the work we do and we are looking for people who share a passion for this wonderful cause. BELOW ARE OPEN POSITIONS

Coding and Robotics Instructor PART TIME

Teach kids Robotics and/or Coding using fun lessons that kids LOVE! Inspire kids with simple explanations of the day’s activities and guide them by mentoring and answering questions while observing and reporting on kids progress. We work with kids in grades 1-8 and travel to schools to teach in After-School programs.

We bring all of our materials including laptops and Robots. You are not expected to be a subject matter expert in Coding or Robotics but we are looking for people who are willing to take training to become Coding and/or Robotics Instructors.

The training is easy, fun and self paced and provide ongoing guidance.

EDUCATION

Ideally you have a Bachelor degree or higher level Education or you are consistently working on your College Degree now.

Note: you must have your own transportation and be able to drive to different schools to teach.

RATE OF PAY

$12.75 – $15 P/HR plus expense reimbursement.Rate is depends on experience and/or ability to learn subjects to teach.

HOURS

You can choose which days you are available as long as you are available some days from 12PM to 4PM and other days from 2PM to 5PM. Schedule varies but is is usually afternoons.

College Internship - Teach Kids Coding and Robotics (PAID)

Learn to teach Coding and Robotics to children where you will receive training and practical experience that you can later apply in your career in Computer Science or Education.

Learn to teach kids Robotics and/or Coding Programs at Elementary and Middle Schools using fun lessons that kids naturally engage with. Training will provide you with theory, classroom management, workshop style application which will be applied in the classroom. Self paced training in the subject matter is supported with curriculums that are easy to follow and implement with opprotunities for enhancement based on goals set.

You will be teamed with a mentor who will provide you with support throughout the internship and who will be your site supervisor. Successful applicants will work by teaming up with other interns and experienced instructors to instruct children Coding and Robotics at various schools from Fall through Spring. Note: You will need to have some afternoons clear from your College Schedule to teach in the classroom.

REQUIREMENTS

We are looking for fun people who love working with kids and have a positive attitude and highly motivated. You may need to have a car to drive to various schools to teach or take public transport or uber/cab. We reimburse for all transportation needs. You must be punctual, love technology and easily learn new technical skills and be personable with faculty and children alike. If you are motivated and highly trainable then we really want you so go ahead and apply.

If you have a passion to be a great role model for kids then this is an ideal internship for you. You must be able to lift up to 40 lbs. from time to time to carry suitcases that contain laptop computers. Must be neat and respect classrooms, equipment and teammates. Must be a good and prompt communicator and have excellent command of language both orally and written.

SKILLS: Technical: No coding language skills are needed but you must have an aptitude and a willingness to learn coding and robotics for little ones and demonstrate a high level of computer skills and a finesses. Those possessing Coding Skills may go on to become mentors of other team members or asked to teach middle and high school subjects. (subject to availability)

Educational: Any of these skills are a plus: Instructing K-6, Kids Camps, After-School Programs, Volunteering, Tutoring, Teaching, Coding, Robotics, Maker Space Programs.

EDUCATION

Working toward a Bachelor degree or higher level Education In Computer Science or Education.

EVALUATIONS

Intern is required to complete two evaluations during the Internship and complete at least 50 hours of work. Must submit required evaluations and time logs to your Career Office.

Teacher's Assistant Winter Internship (PAID)

If you are an aspiring Educator, Technologist, Digital Media artist or related college major this internship will help you acquire practical experience in Elementary School classrooms as it relates to Technology Instruction for Children. No computer programming experience required but you must have experience teaching in Kids Classrooms of Summer Camps.

Must be a good communicator and nimble on your feet as you move from working student to working student in the classroom assisting our Technology Instructors.  Must be a team player and follow instructions well and helps prepare for each class that is assigned to your team.

Please do not apply if you have no previous experience teaching children in classrooms or camps. Do not apply if you have no College Education or you are not currently enrolled in college. Do not apply if you do not meet the qualifications listed below.

DUTIES

  • Assist the Lead Instructor with the management of the children in the classroom 
  • Receive the children from pick up area and lead them to classrooms 
  • Assist teacher by communicating children’s requests to teacher 
  • Assist with dismissal of class. 
  • Prepare the classroom prior to teacher arrival including set up of the seating, the computer, connect the smartboard, children’s computers and accessories. 
  • Pack all of the equipment into suitcases and carry in/out to and from the car. Able to lift up to 40lbs
  • Leave classrooms in same condition as when first arrived
  • Drive to and back all equipment back to our central location in Stamford and assist in preparation for next day use. 
  • Travel to more than one school during the week, one school per day at a time

Teaching K-6 Grades, Leading Kids Camps, Teaching After-School Programs, Volunteering in Schools, Teaching Math, Science, Art, Sports, Languages or any other subject in classrooms.

Staffing and Program Coordinator Part Time

Position Goals:

To successfully manage the hiring of Qualified Staff for the purpose of rolling out After School programs at Schools we serve. Work with School Liaisons to coordinate new programs each semester by communicating often working with our team and following through to program roll out.

JOB DESCRIPTION

  • Recruit for seasonal positions by posting online job ads in college career sites & attending recruitment events at Colleges. Post urgent position on Job Board according to Yearly Job Board Budget.
  • Interview, hire, and place positions on campuses for year round programs and oversee onboarding process including the collection of employee background check clearance forms, fingerprinting documentation and employment paperwork
  • Follow through on all incoming Client Emails/Phone calls and work closely with Leadership Team to facilitate school program management seasonally. 
  • Check employee references, Maintain confidential files and attend training when required
  • Ability to work as directed and meet deadlines while working with our preferred management tool called Trello 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • The ideal candidate will be able to communicate effectively over the phone and through emails to applicants and customers.
  • Previous experience or knowledge of STEM School programs or other learning programs for children or teens is a plus. 
  • Previous experience with recruiting and customer relations is a plus
  • Project Management experience is a plus. 
  • All Candidates must have a 4 year College Degree. 
  • Local Candidates preferred 
  • Excellent command of Google Apps Suite
  • CRM and Project Management software experience is a plus
  • Excellent Written Skills are a must with high attention to detail

RATE OF PAY

The starting pay rate is $20 per hour with the ability to earn a year-end bonus as calculated from profits. Increase to $25 per hour will be considered after 8 months of successful job performance. Training and Travel are paid hourly and reimbursement is provided for uber or cab fare if needed when approved.

FLEXIBLE HOURS

M-F Choose the days you can work and your hours up to 25 per week. Ideally you will work the same schedule weekly or manage accordingly
