Technology Spring Camp 2020

6:1 Ratio

To properly learn Coding and Robotics in a Spring Camp it takes inspired kids and inspired instructors but it also takes enough instructors in a classroom to ensure kids get the proper amount of instruction and assistance. That is why we keep a ratio of no more than 6 kids per instructor and in some cases even less depending on the class you sign up for. Rest assured your kid will have a great experience at our camp and walk away with both fun and learning.

Ages 6-13

“This Summer we are featuring Four Camper groups in Grades: 1-2, 3-4, 5-6 and 7-8. Separating them by Age Range and helps to ensure your children are in a group of Age Ranges that is appropriate and helps us curate content in their classes that is relevant to them. Also this ensures they make friends they can relate to.

Although our Campers have in common a love for technology we understand kids are interested in a diversity of topics so we have worked hard to put together classes that have been popular all year and added a few new topics that are different like 3D Game Design, Journey in Technology Innovation, and many more.  The idea is to offer each camper and experience they will not forget. “

Our Senior Instructors have been with us for multiple years so you can be assured your camper will receive instruction from an experienced instructor not a part time Summer Employee.”

Teaching Philosophy

“Our Technology Holiday and Summer camps are growing increasingly popular and provide an alternative to traditional Day Camps because our kids leave the programs with Educational experiences that are meaningful and which are not typically offered at traditional Day Camps. Both the Camps and After-School Programs impart Computer Science concepts through hands on activities and projects . Children learn Computational Thinking skills, problem break down and solving, project planning and execution and more.”

Cancellation Policy for Camp and Classes

We understand that things come up so we strive to make cancellations easy and fair

If you need to cancel one or more classes, please contact us through one of the following methods as soon as you know:

Refunds:

Camp Refunds are issued when you provide a cancellation request within one week of start of a Camp Session. All other cancellations will be afforded a credit toward a new Camp Session or toward a weekend club.

All refunds are subject to a $25 processing fee.

Typical Day

  • 8AM EARLY DROP OFF
    Bring breakfast and relax as you make and catch up with friends

  • 8:30 – 9:00AM –  FLEXIBLE DROP OFF 

  • 9AM MORNING PUMP All Camp Meeting where we recognize each other’s talents, Play group Games and get psyched up for the day.

  • 9:30 AM Classes Start Campers attend their morning classes with brain and snack breaks in between.

  • 11:30AM Unplugged Activities and Team Games before lunch.

  • 12PM MORNING DISMISSAL and AFTERNOON CAMPER FLEXIBLE DROP OFF

  • 12-12:30PM Lunch time and relaxation time.

  • 12:30PM All Camp Meeting where we recognize each other’s talents, Play group Games and get psyched up for the day.

  • 1PM Classes Start- Campers attend their morning classes with brain and snack breaks in between.

  • 3PM Unplugged Activities and Team Games before dismissal

  • 3:30 PM Camp Dismissal.

  • 3:30 -4:30PM late pick up campers flexible pick up

  • 4:30pm Camp Closes

If your kid loves Video Games this is the right camp experience for them!

In this Learning Path, kids build their own video games using coding languages that are easy and fun to learn. We will place them in age-appropriate classes that will be rewarding with each project completed. Children learn real-world Computer Science concepts such as Sequencing, Iteration, Conditional Statements, and Variables all while having fun making games. Along the way, students also hone skills like Critical Thinking and Problem Solving. Parents are invited at session end to see their children’s creations.

Technologies: EV3 Mindstorms, Ozobots, Sphero

Skill Level: All Skill Levels

If your kid loves Robots they will love this camp.

In this fun discovery class kids journey into Robotics, Electronics, Engineering, and Coding. Every day they work on a new creation that is interesting and fun to build and program. The projects we work on allow for unlimited creativity. Students are encouraged to think critically about their creations and how they are affected by different conditions, to overcome simple trial and error testing. Students may tinker with creations on various robotics platforms and may be encouraged to compete in a yearly robotics competition. Parents are invited to see their child’s creations and take home wonderful pictures of their finished projects.

We encourage girls as young as 5 to participate in our camp and learn from experienced instructors who make projects appealing and fun. Several Topics will be covered including Coding, Robotics, Design and Critical Thinking where our emphasis is on fun projects that are stimulating and rewarding.

Parents are invited at the conclusion of each session to see their children’s creations.

Technologies: 3D Design, 3D Printing, 3DUXx Design

Skill Level: All Skill Levels

Your child will be amazed as they are introduced to various challenges to make things they can imagine and see how they come alive on the screen and in reality. In Architectural Design they learn about planning for projects and design concepts and incorporate them into their creations. Kids take home creations in 3D Printers and their very own 3DUX Design Kit from the Build the City of the Future Class.

Technologies: Virtual Reality, 3D Game Design with Unity, Minecraft Education Edition.

Skill Level: Grades 5-8

If your artistic kid loves Gaming this is an awesome subject for them. We will bring cool 3D images they design to life and use them in games they create. We will guide them through creations that quickly will inspire the inner DaVinci in them.

Technologies: Virtual Reality, A-Frame, Javascript, HTML, 3D Imagery, Google Cardboard

Skill Level: Grades 5-8

In this inspiring Summer Camp class come and cool down and learn to code for Virtual Reality using the A-Frame Javascript Library. This simple yet powerful way to make Virtual Reality Creations will shock you and thrill you as you learn valuable skills to create shapes, animations and interactions that you can see and feel on your own smart-phone when connected to a virtual reality headset. Students will learn to code in a codehs sandbox, participate in a blended classroom and practice precise coding on a simple HTML layer. Students will learn to write javascript elements to make their creations and keep them in their own codehs account. All students will keep their codehs login and VR headset so they can continue to create and learn long after this course. Students will be able to share and play with their creations on a VR device so come and learn how Virtual Reality Programmers get their start in this exciting course. Prerequisites: Ability follow instructions, good typing skills and a desire to learn this exciting technology. Some background in HTML is helpful but not necessary
